Does it hurt to lie on the Shakti Mat?

During the first few minutes you may experience a slightly painful sensation. We recommend that you stay with this sensation and spend some time breathing deeply into your abdomen. Many people experience much improvement with the use of the Shakti Mat. Place the inflamed area on the Shakti Mat or gently press the Shakti Mat directly on the area. This increases the blood circulation and helps the area to heal.

Is it ok to use the Shakti Mat if I have any skin condition?

It is possible that the spikes can irritate or worsen a sensitive and inflamed skin. You can use a thin cloth between the skin and the mat. If you experience any negative affects you need to stop using the mat immediately.
